What does it mean to be a Title 1 school?

Title 1 is the nation’s largest federal program for schools. It provides funding for increasing student

achievement based on the economic level of families in the school’s PARENT attendance area.

The purpose of Title 1 is as follows:

  • Help every child receive a high quality education
  • Build capacity for Family Engagement
  • Meet the requirements of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)
  • Additional funding/staffing to support student learning
